Solar Sound Stylings with Jimbo Talbot & Jo Russell

Sunday afternoon live music has rapidly become a popular offering at The Gatehouse. In anticipation of the Great Eclipse, Jimbo Talbot and Jo Jo Russell share an interactive, intergalactic afternoon of fun, frivolity and musical joy. One part sound journey, one part songs in honor of our connection to the Sun and each other, and one part pure, joyful, fun audience participation. We guarantee you’ll leave not having experienced anything quite like it before.

Free and open to the public

Jo Jo Russell has been playing music since the age of thirteen, making it his full-time profession for over fifty years. Quick-witted, a spontaneous poet, equally at home on bass, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and host of inventive instruments, the Northern New Jersey native relocated to Norwich several years ago where he crafts his own songs, as well as covers a huge catalog of hits. He plays now both, locally and in-and-around metro New York-New Jersey.

Cooperstown native-born, Jimbo Talbot grew up spending long summers along the shores of Otsego Lake, where he learned about music, nature, the stars at night and his connection to it all, and most importantly family values in singing campfire songs together. Now, fifty years later, this multi-instrumentalist, former opera singer is back in Central New York where he provides facilitation, training and team-building services in community building via drum circles, improvisational music making, and sound journeys.
